Luc Martineau : an artist established at Complexe du Canal Lachine

GI Quo Vadis is excited to present a new series of posts to highlight ESG and our amazing tenants. Our coordinator of leasing and special projects, Marie-Pier Séguin, will lead the charge to give visibility to the outstanding impact of tenants in our portfolio where we will celebrate their entrepreneurship and storytelling across our media platforms. Highlighting our tenants is at the base of our core values at Quo Vadis and distinguishes us an impact developer!

A retired Federal Court judge, Luc Martineau has always been passionate about his legal work, but just as much about the visual arts. He has been painting for over 35 years. In January 2022, he launched his career as a full-time artist and established his creative activities in our greater community. It was through acquaintances and word of mouth that he found a studio he liked to practise his art at the Complexe du Canal Lachine. He particularly appreciates the brightness, the view of the Lachine Canal and the space in his studio to create freely. Since then, multiple projects have taken off: participation in two collective exhibitions; a first solo exhibition last December and a second planned for the next few months; invitations to radio and as a speaker, etc.

Luc Martineau favours large abstract canvases, which constitutes the bulk of his pictorial production. But he also appreciates more modest formats, which is the case when he explores more dreamlike aspects as evidenced by his series produced in 2022 under the theme of parallel lives. He also likes new challenges and collaborations with other creators, designers, photographers. He has just painted haute couture outfits and hats that can be admired as works of art and will be exhibited during a spring fashion show, while an article on this unique collaboration will be published, in the meantime, in Luxe magazine.

Many of his works are already in private collections, and even at the Supreme Court of Canada in Ottawa https://lnkd.in/eYK8nwbv !  You can find the works sold in the gallery, follow Luc Martineau’s activities and contact him on his website and via his social networks:
